Acid Quickie - Thatcher's Personal Notes

Thatcher - with some eggs. Look, it's Sunday morning. We can't think of anything better.

The recent publication of ex-PM Margaret Thatcher's personal notes has turned up some interesting facts'n'figures. We hear, for example, that prior to her historic election win back in 1979 she religiously stuck to a high protein diet that included 28 eggs per week. Oy vey - that makes the idea of finding oneself under the Thatcher bedclothes an even more horrendous prospect - no wonder the poor old sod had to turn to the G&Ts.

Thankfully for Sir-to-be Denis' misfortunate nose, his good lady wife was able to give up the eggs following her election win as it placed her in a position to satisfy all of her protein needs by sucking the blood out of the country and its working class for the next eleven and a half years.

Other striking news, such as whether it's true that Maggie slept in a coffin filled with Lincolnshire soil, just as soon as we make it up.

Lady Thatcher recovering well

Ex-PM Lady Margaret Thatcher is said to be recovering well after being admitted to hospital yesterday due to a broken arm sustained in a fall at home. The 83-year-old was visited today by her international arms dealer son, Sir Mark Thatcher, who has said that she is "relaxed" and has "a bit of mischief about her."
Mark Thatcher visited his mother in hospital earlier today.

Wonder what constitutes "a bit of mischief" for Maggie - selling off hundreds of thousands of council houses, leaving poverty-stricken families in either inhuman living conditions or facing homelessness, maybe? Nevertheless, all of us at Acid Rabbi wish her well and hope she gets better soon.

Thatcher breaks her arm

Lady Thatcher has suffered a fall at her home, resulting in hospitalisation for a broken arm. She is said to be recovering well but will remain in London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for 24 hours under observation.

We mean it sincerely, Mrs. Thatcher. A large part of the country is still recovering from your regime, but we're far too nice to hold that against you, so please accept out best wishes.

Acid Rabbi wishes her well - no really, we do. Laughing at an 83 year old woman's misfortune would be a horrible thing to do - almost as horrible as...hmm...abolishing free, nutritious school meals for children from poor backgrounds, or being good mates with a mass murderer like Pinochet, or...there's so many things we could mention - so we won't. If only it'd happened 25 years ago - we'd have laughed our heads off then.
