Elliot Morley, MP for Scunthorpe, termed the furore over expenses a "bloodfest" while he was trying his hardest to convince us all that he'd been been unaware his mortgage was paid off and that the extra £16,000 he was able to claim as a result of that error was "a mistake." His subsequent suspension from the Labour Party, meanwhile, was a deliberate (and well-deserved) act.
Tomorrow's publication will include all Additional Costs Allowance claims made in the last four years - ie; all those incurred by MPs staying away from their main home, which is usually in their constituency - along with costs resulting from communications and office/staff maintenance costs. The Commons have been ordered to release the information following a decision by the High Court after campaigners used the Freedom of Information Act.
Make sure you keep an eye on the Net and on the BBC Parliament television channel - can you imagine what it'd be like if you filled water balloons with live ants and threw a few hundred of them into the debating chamber? Well, you can be certain it's going to be a lot more animated than that - if, like us, you follow politics because you find it satisfies that primeval part of the soul that in some people is satisfied only be bloodsports, it's going to be a fun day.
